Our mission is to elevate the role of leadership in the lives of the citizens of Central Texas; to focus on the vitality and necessity of regional leadership capital; and to serve others through the process of encouraging individuals to grow, prosper and make a significant difference through the practice of leadership skills.
Sandy Dochen is the Manager of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs for IBM covering Texas and Oklahoma. He administers innovative programs that parlay IBM technology to address societal needs in education, literacy, R&D, global leadership and other fields. A 10-year IBMer, Dochen has also served in community, government and media relations roles at two other companies, was vice president of government relations and community development at the Austin Chamber of Commerce and was news director of KLBJ Radio. In addition, Sandy worked in the Washington and Austin offices of U.S. Congressman Jake Pickle.
A native Austinite, Dochen serves on a variety of boards including the Texas Business & Education Coalition, Workforce Solutions Capital Area, the executive committee of the Austin Area Research Organization and the KUT FM Advisory Board. Dochen is an alum and former board member of Leadership Austin. He and his wife, Carol, are being honored in September with the LBJ Humanitarian Award by the Jewish Community Association of Austin.
The breakfast will be held from 7:30 until 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21st, at the Austin Club. The Austin Club is located on the north side of 9th Street between Congress and Brazos.
